Whole Chestnuts Peeled and Steamed These small and very tasty fruits are shelled, peeled, unsweetened, and steam-cooked chestnuts. Add to recipes calling for whole chestnuts without the tedious shelling and peeling involved with this fruit. Use them in your stuffing for birds or in pates, charcuterie, and meat loafs. Great tasting with meats, game, or venison. These whole cooked chestnuts can also be candied for desserts recipes and/or broken in small pieces for added texture. Their texture and taste mix nicely with green vegetables such as Brussels sprouts or green beans and offer a wonderful and healthy side dish to meat, game or venison.
